What's Wrong With Me!?!?

Hello Friends!
Another week, another blog! I'm so glad you've come back for another dose of things I find fascinating! LOL Here's what's been going on this week!

Favorite New Thing:  SLEEP!

So, I know that "sleep" isn't really a novel concept since... I don't know, Adam & Eve days, but since my new move, I've found that I've been sleeping MUCH better than usual.  For starters, I'm a super-light sleeper... If sleeping were boxing, I'd be the champion featherweight of sleeping.  So, it just dawned on me that the reason I am always tired-- like massively tired-- in the mornings, was because I wasn't getting enough quality sleep.  Let's face it... I'm a Night Owl to the core... I'll probably never get a full 8hrs-- but the sleep I do get is much, much better now.  So many times I've woken up early these past few weeks... Yes, you heard it here first, folks EARLY! Like, I watched an entire movie before work, early, and was refreshed... I'm by no means a morning person, but it was awesome to be able to not feel like an ogre in the mornings.  Get more quality sleep, folks!

Favorite Irritation:  "Mind ya bidness, that's all, just mind ya bidness!!"

So, I know this show has been on for over a decade, but every now and then I'll catch an episode.  This one brought me to tears, because I identify with some of the struggles-- but also, I identify with one of the girls, exclusively:  The show was True Life titled "my boyfriends fed up with my weight"... Like a lot of people in America, I struggle with weight issues. It's not easy to do when you feel like life keeps derailing you from your plan. It's even harder to do when people never leave you alone about it.  I related more with Sara, the girl who's boyfriend has decided to be her "personal trainer" instead of her man.  I'm glad to see that she was able to properly communicate, to him, her feelings... It was just a douche bag way for him to be, since he met her at that weight.  And the fact that he met her at that weight & allowed his mom to talk crazy to her would've been his express ticket out the door, if he were with me.  And an even bigger help out the door would've been when HE blamed her for when HE gained 10lbs! Really?? It was really disheartening... The only thing I have to say to Enrique, is that as much as she has to take responsibility  for her actions, he does too... So he earned those 10lbs himself... Seriously-- what a baby! He literally was acting as if she took fat chunks off her body and put them in him, in the middle of the night, and he couldn't figure out how to get rid of it... Then, he sulked like a little boy and took no responsibility for his actions... Oooh, He and I would never be a good match....  If you can catch that episode, do it!

Favorite Album:  Sam Smith  In the Lonely Hour

I don't know what it is about those British artists... but I FREAKIN' love them! I heard this guy on Elvis Duran, and fell in love with his voice.  One morning, I literally was frozen in my hallway, listening to Sam's rendition of Bruno Mar's "Should've Brought You Flowers..." I mean with Bruno Mars' incredible lyrics, and Sam's voice... I was just mesmerized about his voice. Check him out!!

Favorite Laugh:

I died laughing when my friend, Dani, posted this on my Facebook page! Seriously, folks... the internet is sooo crazy! lol

Favorite Video:  Joining & Rejoining the Gym... (Seriously Watch this!)

One of the things that I love are Youtube videos that are right on time... This one is a forerunner in my life right now.  Every person who's every struggled with weight loss knows how it feels to be a "beginner" at the gym, lol.  I seriously laughed so much!

Thanks for reading today!  Let me know what you're up to!!

And the Nominees Are *drum roll, please*...

Hello Everyone!
My blog is gonna be different today...

I'm pleased to announce that I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by my friend, Mandie Mensah at her blog, Viva La Sassy! Check her out here! I love that people actually read my blog, because even if no one read it, I'd still do it anyway. I love to write! I'd like to thank Vicky Fitz, my second grade friend for giving me my first journal, Mrs. Risner, my 2nd Grade reading teacher, for making us read & journal every day, Ms. Washburn, my 5th grade teacher, for mispronouncing the word "Gee" several times while reading us Judy Blume books (Superfudge) thus proving that she was NOT smarter than this 5th Grader... I'd also like to thank my parents for always encouraging my creativity... and The Lord, Jesus Christ for giving me my creativity to begin with... With that said here are the questions

That being said Here are the questions Mandie wants me to answer:

1. How did you decide on the name your blog?

I LOVE Lauryn Hill! Like the woman only made 2 solo albums, and her music is still as relevant today as it was in 1999 when she released it.  I always admired her way with words, her gift for getting her ideas and message across, and her humbleness about it all. Her album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is forever one of the top albums of all time because it’s honest & about life. That’s how I want my blog to be.

2. Is there a cause/project you are passionate about or support, let us in on it?

Yes, it’s called the TJMOAIB fund… (Tiffani Just Moved Out and is Broke Fund)… So if anyone is willing to contribute to that…

3. What is a guilty pleasure TV show you watch?

Pretty much all of the tv I watch is Guilty Pleasure TV… but I’d like to say Duck Dynasty… For one, I never thought that a black woman from the suburbs would really have anything in common with Duck Hunters who like to call themselves “Rednecks”, from the swamps of Louisiana… Where I come from, that’s code for lynchins’ & cross burnins’ lol … But, after watching a few episodes and falling in love with the Robertson men, I can truly say that they are none of those things, and I’m a fan! I love their family values, I love Phil & Si for sure- Si, definitely being my favorite. The man keeps up with the times and that’s hilarious!

4. What inspired you to begin blogging?

I have been journaling since the 2nd grade, and I love healthy opinion swapping & sharing! If I could figure out how to be a critique of something (Movies, tv shows, food, restaurants etc) I’d totally do it! Also, I realized that I have a God-given talent that wasn’t being used. So, I decided to turn some of the things I find fascinating into something others might enjoy, as well!

5. If you could re-name yourself, what would your name be and why?

My name would be MRS. __Fill in Husband’s Last name here___ As much as I don’t mind being single not settling for the wrong men, I’m ready for that part of my life to begin. I am happy to have the freedoms I have as a single woman, but at the same time it doesn’t negate the fact that I want a family of my own.

6. What is your go-to/favorite outfit?

My birthday suit J

7. Your favorite or life-giving quote or verse? {Life giving as in inspiring,motto, or mantra}

So many! It seems like I have one for every life event but I love:

"When you love someone, you've gotta trust them. There's no other way. You've got to give them the key to everything that's yours. Otherwise, what's the point? And for a while, I believed, that's the kind of love I had..."-Casino, Ace Rothstein

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” Colossians 3:23

“But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

"Actions speak louder than words..."

"When a woman gives it to you straight, don't give her a line like you don't remember..." - Marlena, Water For Elephants

“It’s really hard to walk in a single woman’s shoes; That’s why sometimes you need really special shoes…”- Carrie Bradshaw, Sex in the City episode “A Woman’s Right to Shoes”

8. What's your dream job?

If I could be a food critique without getting ginormous, or any kind of critique that people would really respect my opinions,  like Fashion Magazine Goddess Anna Wintour,  Whatever the heck Kim Kardashian does,  a jet setter, blogging- of course, or The person who gets to surprise  people with Publisher’s Clearinghouse checks, I’d feel I had the best job… but what I do now pays the bills & is probably as good as it gets, for now…

9. If your life were a movie, the title would be...

The same as Mindy Kaling's Book "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me..." I relate to that woman so well!

10. Would you rather sing like Jennifer Lopez or dance like Derek Hough (from DWTS-my guilty pleasure)?

Obviously dance like Derek Hough… well, dance WITH Derek Hough (He's so hot!)… Jennifer Lopez really is more of a performer than a singer…

So with that being said… I’m Nominating (In no special order…)
Ashley Carter at
Sean McMurray at The Fire Inside

Liebster is an award from bloggers to bloggers with smaller followings in order to get his or her name out there. Here are the details.

1. You must answer the 10 Liebster questions given to you by the blogger who nominated you

9)  Do you feel your surroundings influence your blogs? (Family, kids, work, city?)
10)  What quotes, verses, or mantras do you love? (I loved that from Mandie's Questions!)
I’ve decided to answer Jen’s Questions, as well! I know… I’m full of it…

Jen’s Questions:

1. why/how did you start blogging?

My friend, Vicky Fitz, gave me a journal in the 2nd grade. I never knew I’d love to write so much!

2. what does healthy living mean to you?

Being able to eat anything in the world and not get huge! That would be ideal… because I like to eat great foods! But since that’s not the case, I’ll work on my outer appearance on my own terms, lol.  In the meantime I like to live a balanced life, physically, emotionally & spiritually—That often means disconnecting from social media & other distractions.

3. describe your perfect saturday.

Sleep until I wake up refreshed, Brunch with mimosas at the 2nd St Farmer’s Market in my town, with live music and a nice breeze.  I’d also like to see a great movie, spend some time with friends/boyfriend, hang out w/my siblings who I don’t get to see that much, and have my dad cook us all barbecue! YUM! Oh, and I’d like it to be the 4th of July, because it’s my favorite holiday!

4. what is your favorite go-to breakfast?

Cheese Eggs, sausage links, fruit & some kind of fruit juice.

5. name your favorite exercise move (i.e. burpee, plank…)

Sleep… Oh, that was supposed to be Yoga Meditation? My bad… No- My absolute favorite is not just one, but a series of ones… and it goes to an 8count. It’s called dancing/Zumba!

6. it’s warm and sunny, you are driving with the windows down and you are singing like no one is watching, what song is play?

Runaway Baby by Bruno Mars… Pretty Much ANYTHING by Bruno Mars
Voices by The Lylas (Bruno Mars’ sisters… guess it runs in the family)
Back to Black by Amy Winehouse (R.I.P)

7. what is your morning routine?

Wake up and pray I make it to work before my supervisors get there (#Always Late for Work)

8. if you could submit an original recipe, to be featured on the menu of your favorite restaurant, what recipe would you submit?

It would probably be those little cool breakfast quiches! They’re easy  & quick to make, they’re filling , can be frozen & are portable. What more could a person want?  But if you want to be fancy- I’d make something with Duck in it… because that sounds fancy.

9. if you could drop everything right now and hop on a plane, where would you go?

I’d love to go so many places, Italy, Greece, New Zealand… Pretty much anywhere featured on The Bachelorette/The Bachelor.

10. If you could either breathe like darth vader or talk like yoda, which would you choose?

I guess breathed like Darth Vader… because either one would annoy the crap out of me.  At least if I breathed like Darth Vader, I’d have more of a chance of making myself pass out!

And that’s in for this week Folks! Please check out the blogs posted! Also there are more bloggers to check out on Mandie’s Blog! Until next time…

Welcome Back, Tiff...

So, I know that you all would personally tell me that you missed my blogs if you could, so I just said it for you, ha ha! I am finally moved into my new place & I LOVE IT!  I don't know why I waited so long to move!! Oh, yes I do... because I didn't think that I'd be there long b/c of the relationship I was in... Well, being that I finally decided to move into a new place, obviously he is no longer in the picture- But I'm in a great place, ready for new beginnings! So, while I was gone....

Favorite Laugh:  Lebron's Cramps...

Lebron has caught a lot of flack for his performance in the NBA Finals... He's probably got the most famous cramps of 2014, lol. Poor Guy... I still don't hate him for moving to Miami, but I'm kinda glad he's not in Cleveland anymore... Whew!

Favorite Album:  Florida-Georgia Line Here's to the Good Times

So- No, I'm not the biggest country fan, but I do like country from time to time. Today, I really got into this album. I'm definitely going to be adding Florida-Georgia Line into my repertoire on Pandora.  They have the exact kinda of style I like. It reminds me of Alan Jackson or Rascal Flatts! Check them out!

Favorite Quote:  A Woman's Right to Shoes- Sex & the City

This quote comes at the end of one of my FAVORITE episodes of Sex & The City (Seriously, I saved it on my DVR)... The episode, A Woman's Right to Shoes, speaks to me so much, as a single woman.  Carrie Bradshaw was able to articulate some of the frustration a lot of single women feel about celebrations as adults.  (I've included a brief synopsis of the episode, in case you don't know which one I mean if you do, you can skip ahead to the next paragraph, if you wish, lol)

LONG STORY SHORT: Carrie goes to a baby shower, where she is wearing her brand new pair of Manolo Blahniks ($485). The party host, Kira (Tatum O'Neal) has a house rule where she doesn't like people to wear the shoes in the house. Carrie is hesitant about taking her shoes off-- for fashion reasons-- but does so anyway, out of respect for her friend. At the end of the party, Carrie is horrified to find out that someone has walked away with her brand new expensive shoes.  Kira offers her a pair of $6 Keds to go home in, but Carrie is still upset that her shoes are missing. Upon further investigation about her shoes, Carrie realizes that Kira has become condescending & judgmental as their lives have split in different directions-- to the point at which Kira "Shoe Shames" her, scolding her for paying so much for them and saying, "Carrie, you chose to pay that much for your shoes, I don't think it's fair that we have to pay for your extravagant lifestyle..." ,  after offering to only reimburse her $200 for her shoes, because she felt that $485 was 'too much', now that she has a family.  She basically says that Carrie's life isn't a "real life", because she isn't married with kids... So, Carrie breaks it down saying that in all the times Carrie has celebrated Kira's life choices (Engagement Parties, Wedding Gift, multiple Baby Showers & birthdays) that it's really sad that Kira can't respect Carrie's Life choice (in buying the expensive shoes). She said, "Until I get married or have a kid, I ain't gettin' nothin' from Kira... It just sucks that single people are left out of it, until those things happen..."  In the end, Carrie ends up getting her shoes, because she calls Kira to tell her that she's engaged to herself & registered at Manolo Blahnik.  She gets her "wedding gift" and that's when she says the quote above...

So- to everyone out there who still has single friends-- Do us a favor & celebrate us, too! Don't skip our birthdays, promotions, big moves, etc... There's no question that your single friend has supported you, in your life events/choices, as well. She/he's come to your family get togethers (invited, I hope ha ha), they've celebrated your weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, and for some, even your happy divorce parties, lol! Please don't begrudge us the few opportunities that we get to celebrate in our own personal lives. We may not have found our Prince/Queen yet-- but that doesn't mean our lives aren't significant and as meaningful as yours'.  So, if you have a great friend- married, or not-- appreciate them! Celebrate them, too!

Favorite Truth:  Single Ladies... All the Single Ladies (and Fellas, too...)

So, I know I've written a lot about being single, in this blog-- but it just happens that I've found a few cool things I wanted to write about.  For one- I wish people wouldn't put so much stock into being single or married.  I think both stages have their positive & negative attributes!  I choose to be the type of person who is content in all the stages I my find myself. I don't need to be "happily__(fill in relationship status here)___" I just want to be HAPPY... period.  I would prefer to be married, yes... but I love the things I can do while I'm single. I can pick up & go at a drop of a dime, I make decisions for myself... I can have peace & quiet, pretty  much whenever I want it, I can sleep in EVERY weekend, if I want to... There are tons of things! So, it kills me when people are so desperate to be in a relationship, that they'll sacrifice all of that, and be in a bad/false relationship, just to say they're involved.

Or when they discount what their single friends say about love, because they happen to be single at the moment. NEWSFLASH:  It means they probably have been through experiences that you could learn from, too.  Single people, often times, are the trailblazers for their friends-- because they've dealt with many different types of people/experiences.  Sure, if your single friend is a womanizer or maneater, listen to their advice with a grain of salt, but all in all-- it's better to be alone than miserable & unfulfilled!

That concludes it this week, folks! Leave your questions & comments below or on my facebook!  I'm going to go home & relax & have a great weekend! Congratulations to my friends, Andrea & Ronnie-- who's getting married & who's wedding I'll be attending this weekend! So excited for them!
