Hooo Put that in my Cookie Jar???

Welcome to another fabulous weekend!  I hope that this week has served you well, and that you have done likewise.  Here are some of my musings of the week:

Favorite Song:  Partition by Beyonce

So, you know I'm not really a huge fan of Beyonce as a person, but I still like her songs from time to time.  I heard this in the car the other night, and I loved it! It's got a smooth mixed beat. You can choose between a clean & explicit version (I'm actually not sure which one this is, lol).  But it just felt like a fresh new song for summer... It's the kind you want to roll the windows down and rock out on a drive to or play while getting ready to party!

Favorite Space Solution:  What's in My Cookie Jar???

I know for many of you, this is a huge, deep-seated & BURNING question... "What does Tiffani Sharice put in her Cookie jar???" Well, I love cookies, but I'm not the type that usually has them in her house.  I just don't really think to buy them that much, and if I do, they're always just one or two with dinner.  So, since I'll be moving- I realized a cute new way to store my Keurig K-Cups!!  Right now, I'm using a drawer in my large kitchen... But in my move, I'll be downsizing considerably in kitchen space (small sacrifice).  So, since I will have to use my spare drawers for actual Kitchenware, I thought this was definitely the best solution! I know that I'm not the first to have this idea, but some people have a hard time thinking outside of the box.  This way, I can enjoy my "Cookie Jar" and it will also serve a purpose. It has also solved my need to look for K-Cup racks on Amazon.

Favorite Pet Peeve:  People's ideas on Positivity & Negativity...

I find it very annoying how "sensitive" our society is about people's beliefs, opinions &  thoughts.  There is no longer a right to feel more than two emotions. You have a choice of being positive or negative, that's it!! I have great antipathy for people who think that just because you don't agree with them, you're being negative.  These were the people who were raised by the Little Leagues that gave a trophy to EVERYONE at the end of the summer, just because you participated.  "We're all right! We're all winners!!"  So now, we've got this entitled bunch of brats who think that everyone has to agree with them and they have to get their way.  It sickens me.  There are so many more attitudes/opinions than Positive & Negative. If you are skeptical or doubtful or unsure, it's seen as "negative"-- NOT TRUE! There are a million emotions people can be other than negative & positive! Just check your Emogies on your phone! There's pensive, thoughtful, discerning, etc... So, as soon as people don't agree with, people want to paint you in the negative light. This happens especially online, where people can say whatever they want (sometimes even anonymously) and feel as if they're justified.  Whats more is that people Have also learned not to speak up if they agree with the person who is standing up for an opposing opinion.  They like to sugar coat their comments and stay neutral.  True, this is the safest place to be and not get your feelings hurt if someone decides to descend on you... but it's just a shame people can't respect the Golden Rule... In this instance it's "Agree to disagree, if you can't agree".  Not everyone has to agree with you on everything! And it gives you no right to try and paint them negatively, when their opinion isn't necessarily a negative attribute-- it's just not what you wanna hear...

*takes a sip of water..*

Favorite Picture:  Tyrese's Seagulls

I saws this beautiful pic on singer Tyrese Gibson's page, and fell in love.  I mean, of course Tyrese is not slouch to look at either... but in those quiet moments, this is what you want. Peace, beauty, and a nice refreshing drink with garnish!

Favorite Crush: Jamie Dornan

Who is Jamie Dornan? Well, I guess he's gonna be our new Christian Grey in the movie Fifty Shades of Grey, that premieres in February 2015!  Apparently he is an actor on a tv show called The Fall- another show I have never seen, lol.  I joined a Fifity Shades of Grey Discussion group online, and they're actually in the midst of a heated argument about him.  it's amazing how passionate & personal people take certain things in their lives.  At the end of the day, it's only a book/movie. Get a hold of yourselves, ladies... Possibly in the way suggested in the books... (Oooooooh, did I say it? Yes, she did!)

Favorite Book Read:  Where'd You Go, Bernadette?

So, I finally got back to this book.  I've read the first two sections, so I'm about a third of the way into it. I'm finding it a little tedious to read, however.  There are a LOT of architectural terms and  finite details that are a bit confusing, and no one cares about.  It's also a little choppy to read, because it skips characters & storylines erratically... BUT, there is also a lot of good in the book. The story is finally starting to pick up, and you realize that this lady is going nuts.   Now, we just have to get to what happened, why are they asking where she went, and what's the result! I'll let you know! Hopefully I'll finish this weekend!

Ok- If you've made it this far, you really do love my blogs! ha ha. I've stayed late from work to do this, and I really am hungry fro dinner. So no please give me a pass on not proof reading! Enjoy the rest of the weekend & comment! Don't forget to subscribe!

Happy Day!

Hello, All!
Welcome to another installment of The Miseducation of Tiffani Sharice! This is a short week ( cue Hallejuah Chorus!) and I'm so relieved for a little break.  I don't have quite the time to ramble on, like I usually do (working on that... lol), I've decided to start a little early. So- if you don't see this on Friday, you might see it Thursday! Anywho.. Here's what's going on:

Favorite Pastime:  Youtubing DIY Videos

I know, it's totally lame... But it's kinda not, lol.  I wouldn't particularly label myself as a "crafty" person, especially when all is said & done, you might spend more money purchasing craft supplies, than actually just buying something ready-made.  But when I'm doing crafts, they do turn out pretty well, I have to say. Since I'm moving, I've been looking for ways to decorate my new place, where I won't have to make any permanent or semi-permanent changes. No one is gonna want to turn a fabulous apartment back into the same boring hum-drum state it was when you got it, right? And you definitely don't want to spend the bucks to turn a room boring, again-- when you're not living there, right?  So, I found that Youtube has provided me with many ideas & tools on how to decorate "temporarily". Who would imagine that  I could literally spend HOURS watching these videos?

Favorite Drink:  Dark Magic by Green Mountain Coffee

This coffee is exactly the potion I need in the mornings! Granted, it takes me monstrous amounts of caffeine to make a difference in my demeanor, but this certainly is a tasty way to do it!  This magical blend is an extra bold, dark roast coffee with a very unique taste.  It's comparable to my other favorite, Wolfgang Puck's  Jamaica Me Crazy, with it's rich unique flavor.  If you get a chance, pick up this nutty little coffee to cast a spell on a hum-drum morning!

Favorite Tunes:  US the Duo

I found this duo named "Us", through an up & coming blogger (Meghan Rosette Reinks, who I'll feature next) and I'm totally in love with their love! It's a husband & wife team that seem to have a lot of fun together singing & etc.  You know that you're having a good time, when you make compilations of 90's sitcom theme songs... Full House, Family Matters, Cartoons...  you name it! Meghan Rosette listens to them when she's winding down for the night, and I love that I'm now aware of new talent.

Favorite Vlogger:  Meghan Rosette

She's a cheeky little bugger, and I love watching her Vlogs! Sure, sometimes she's a cornball, sometimes a little obnoxious, sometimes a little too goofy-- but I love her energy, her uniqueness, and the things she likes to talk about.  She's young, and is taking the world by storm. She also shows a little of her more serious moments, where she's inspired me to have a more "chill" wind-down nightly routine. I might add a glass of wine to mine, but she just inspired me to consciously decide to do certain things.  In my new apartment, with less "neighborly contact", I think I'll find this more feasible. You've gotta love that. Check out Meghan at @MeghanRosette (on Instagram & Twitter); And subscribe to her channel on Youtube!

Favorite Food:  Domino's Chicken Crusted Pizza

A co-worker bought me lunch today, and we both tried this new chicken dish. Its a piquant little dish of breaded chicken, topped with sweet and spicy mango-habanero chutney, a blend of cheeses made with both mozzarella and cheddar, jalapeno & pineapple.  It was pretty delicious! But keep in mind, this is not for the weak! The jalapeno & Habanero both have a way of sneaking up on you! So, If you don't like a lot of heat, stay out of the kitchen!

So, in the name of not letting this go on forever! As I'm always discovering new things about life... And in the name of getting back to work, (ha ha ha) I'll bid you adieu, until next time! Happy Easter/Passover to all of you!

Moving On UP!

I'm so excited to tell you that, I GOT APPROVED FOR MY NEW APARTMENT!! I feel blessed to finally be able to move forward with something that I've been dragging my feet to do.  So, if the next couple of blogs feature random things about home decor & apartments, then, please bare with me. Here are the things I've been obsessed with this week:

Favorite Laugh:  "A Strong Independent Dog That Don't Need No Man..."

Every time I see this pic, I die laughing! Society always seems to exaggerate when a woman says that she's "Independent & Strong and doesn't need a man"... To most men, I guess it comes off as a threat-- but there's definitely a difference between needing a man & wanting a man.  I think a lot of women do say this, but at the same time--  it's seen as a way to emasculate a man.  I think that the phrase gets a bad wrap. I'm proud to be a "Strong, Independent Woman, who doesn't need a man..."-- but that only means (to me) that I'm self-sufficient.  I can take care of myself. I don't need to mooch off anyone. That's how I see it. But, I do want to spend my life with someone someday.  Being that I can do all of these things on my own-- it frees up space for us to be Best Friends & explore other areas of our lives.  I don't know. I guess I see it differently. I'd prefer a self-sufficient guy over a guy I had to "Mother", any day... Don't get me wrong I'm a very loving & "cater to you", love doing things for my man kind of girl, but I want to feel like I do those things out of my love for someone, and not because they "don't know how"... Regardless, this made me crack up!

Favorite Tunes:  Ed Sheeran

This is MY KIND OF MUSIC... and at the end of the day, it fits my English Artist fetish... I don't know what is in the water over the pond, but they have cranked out so much talent!! It's real talent too, not just this cookie-cutter stuff America likes to do; Not this "just because they're hot or a reality tv housewife, let's give em' a record deal!!" Not-uh! Ed Sheeran was on Elvis Duran this morning, and I'm so glad I could get turned on to him. Take a listen to his other stuff on Youtube, or something. You won't regret it! ;)

Favorite Obsession:  Stalking My Own Apartment...

Ok... I will totally admit it. I've been sort of a creeper about my new apartment, since they sent me the "proposed address". Granted, this address could actually change, making me even MORE of a creeper, but my living environment really is important to me. I want to see who's milling about during the day. I want to see if there seems to be loud parties or riff-raff (Sidenote:  that's ol' skool slang for ya, ha ha) hanging about. I want to see if it looks like people actually work, or if it's turning into Section 8 housing... Is it relatively quiet during the week nights? What are people acting like during the weekends? Is it well lit at night? These are all questions I need to know!! So, yes...I have been creeping around, spying on the surroundings.  I also had to do a drive around the neighborhood a few times, because I wanted to make sure that the place they give me is equal caliber to the rest of the complex. I will not fall for the "Ol' Bait & Switch"... Don't show me Buckingham Palace, then try to house me on Skid Row... NOPE!  That won't fly.

Favorite Quote:   This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald

I've never read This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald (author of The Great Gatsby), yet, but after reading through the quotes on, I can say that I'm intrigued... I like this quote.  I know that personally, this speaks volumes. I wish I would've heard it earlier, so I could've stopped waiting around for men who eventually let me down... -but- in that same thought, possibly had I not been "the girl who waited..." maybe this wouldn't have impacted me as much? Regardless, I thought it was a beautiful quote.  I will remember to always keep moving, from now on.  I am the prize. I've always known that... but, I think that others take it for granted when you give them more priority than they think deserve... it's all psychological... So nonetheless, you play the game.

Favorite Thought: The REAL Haters of [Fill in your City]...

I generally hate that term "hater"-- most certainly because so many people overuse or misuse it.  A lot of people use it as a means to define a) Someone who disagrees with them b) Someone who dislikes them c) Someone who doesn't care about them d) Someone who talks about them...etc.  To mean, those aren't real reasons for people to "hate" on you.  Most people believe that "hating" on someone comes from the root of jealousy-- so that's what they chalk everything up to. No- sometimes people aren't really jealous, they genuinely can't stand you...

Anyway- I was driving home the other day, and was thinking of the term "Hater" in another way. An additional way I would define "hater" would be, "anyone who can never be happy for you, unless they can find a way that it benefits them..."  This also falls into the "Users" category, as well. I showed a few people where I potentially was going to move, and several of them acted as if I was going to be another "Contact" for after-hours work inconveniences, in case there was something needed at the company... Uh...not uh! My off time is MINE... There are others that live closer, and they can volunteer for that duty if they want to... It kind of irritated me, because you can't assume that just because something good happens to someone else, that it's also more advantageous for you, too.

In other areas of my life, as well... I've noticed that as soon as I mention something good that happens to me or to someone I know, they're thinking of ways for it to benefit them.  It's like, you win the lottery, and they're already calculating how much a year it would take for them to get out of debt or drive a new Bentley or something. Not Happening! I'm not a means to your end.  But it's really sad that some people genuinely act like they can't be happy for you, unless they can try to finagle a way for it to benefit them. It's really sad...

Anyway- it's been a LOOOOONG Day. I can't wait to go home and veg out or a few hours, before I continue to pack, pack, PACK!!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

This week has been great... Long, but great! We've had a few rainy days, but there also have been some that make you feel so good in your shoes! So, guess what I've been doing?

Favorite Pasttime:  Apartment Adventures!

So, I found a place to live! I'm hoping that all the background checks pan out, but I'm really excited that I'll be able to move in at the end of May (hopefully).  I've never lived in a legitimate "apartment complex", before, so I'm really excited about the upgrades.  Above is the place (which I'm not letting people know the exact name, for privacy)-- but it's awesome! I'll be upstairs, have my own balcony, vaulted ceilings, alarm system... The works!  I'm so excited, that I'm going to use my tax return to fully support all things required for this move. New furniture, deposits, paying off the folks where I live now...etc. And the task would've been a lot less fun & a lot more tedious, if I didn't have my good friend, Des by my side! This girl is AMAZING!  We had so many laughs & good times during this apartment hunt.  The first day we went out, it was nice, but a bit chilly... the second time it was all kinds of bad weather! It rained heavily, snowed, sleeted, and she was right there making me laugh & trekking along like it was no big deal. Most friends might leave you hanging once, but my buddy went with me twice AND in horrid weather.  I'm moving out alone, so there was absolutely NOTHING in this for her. That's when you know you've got great friends.

Favorite Show:  The Mindy Project Returns!!

(The Mindy Project)

I was devastated when, after only 3 or 4 episodes, The Mindy Project was ripped from my life, last season.  I have NO idea why this was the case. But we were put in "Mindy Purgatory" until April 1st.  When it did return, we were surprised with a FULL HOUR of Mindy Kaling! Sources say that next week's episode will also be a full hour long... Not only that, they've been 2 episodes, for the hour, instead of just one. This clearly has "Network" or "Writer's Strike" or something sketchy written all over it, and the people who are paying the consequences, are the viewers.  The first two episodes were great, though, and I'm looking forward to an uninterrupted new season!

Favorite Snooze:  Real Housewives of New York

I Cannot even tell you how bored I am with this season.  The show has been off for several seasons, and when you come back, THIS is what you bring us?? 56 episodes of Carol & Aviva arguing about 'whether or not each other used a Ghostwriter for their books???' Really, girls? SNORE... The only reason why I continue to watch, is to see the scene when Aviva's leg is laying somewhere during a fight, and it hasn't happened yet... Other than that...Zzzzzzz.

Favorite New Show:  Online Dating Rituals of the American Male

I caught this at the end of the season... but GEEZ, it's so gripping!  I've online dated before, but none of it seems this carefree & easy, for me.  For me, it's not a fun or comfortable experience, but I don't rule it out, all together.  I can say that some of these guys have been set up for some doozies!  From what I've seen, and my personal experiences, I think guys are the ones that have the short end of the stick for this one. There have been some major bombs & grenades on these dates.  Girls who are LIARS, women who are rude, women who show up drunk, women who have been complete spazzes or brain dead, those who have been overly flirty and "putting on a show" for the guy. It's kind of sad. The show is intriguing... Of course, all this proves is that women are more upfront about their CRAZY, lol.  What you see is what you get, and it's subject to change... For me, a man's LIES have come out after we're already in a relationship, etc.  Different strokes for different folks, I guess...

There was one guy, Grant, that I felt sorry for.  He was really hot, seemed to have a great personality, young, wanted a family, to be married, a DOCTOR... and totally in love with the girl next to him in this picture.  The only problem is, the girl is his "roommate's girlfriend" (Tatiana or  "Tati").  They all live together for companionship, but it's clear that she's a major flirt with him, and he's head over heels, desperately in love with her

Not only that, but she's "helping" him not get a wife, by c-blocking him from potential girls.  He said things like, "He's jealous of his roommate... Tati is gorgeous...she's smart... he's looking for a girl just like her, because she's taken... (someone please cue Adele's "Someone Like You"...)  Apparently, Tatiana & Grant met in another country on some kind of mission trip... but when they came back, he eventually moved in with her & her boyfriend, Damien.  So, clearly there should be some allegiance, since you're living in the man's house... but it really makes me wonder how far Grant & Tatiana have gone behind his back.  The saddest part is, she was actively making his new date (a pretty blonde lady who would've been great for him) uncomfortable by asking all kinds of inappropriate questions. Apparently, Tati "didn't like her" so much that it made her put up high guards. Good luck trying to find love, being in love with a woman who is willing to toy with you...

That's it for now! See you next time!
