Semi-Awful Lunchbreak!

Happy Friday, Friends!  So sorry to have missed the blog last week, but I was super busy & sick. Today, I'm just sick... but whatever.  But here's what's been on my mind this week!

Favorite Epidemic:  Vocal Fry Patterns
This is hilarious to me. My sisters & I tried this last week, and were cracking up.  I only really know one person, personally, who is TERRIBLE with Vocal Fry, but never did I realize that it's become an actual epidemic.  Even though this lady mentions the Kardashian Fryers (Who I would say, have more of a vocal intonation problem [you know, where everything sounds like a question...] than actual Vocal Fry) I would say Rachel Zoe & her cast are probably the WORST Vocal Fryers in history. Here's Amy Phillips doing an impersonation of Rachel Zoe... She's almost dead on!

Personally, I think the whole thing is annoying. And it's even more annoying that people do this, because it makes them feel important or "worthy".  People need to really find out what matters in life.

Favorite Movie:  The Best Man Holiday

So, I'm totally excited about seeing this movie!! It just came out last week, but I never like to see things on Opening Night.  For one, seeing so soon means I'm bound to have to sit next to someone I don't know, fighting over the armrest or worried about our thigh-meat touch, because the theatres are always packed.  Also, if I end up going with a group of friends, I end up seeing the same move several times, because no one else has seen it, yet! (I saw Twilight: Breaking Dawn II 3 times in the theatres! Now, I just own it lol.)  Or if it's really good, I always want to talk about it, but then I'm stifled, because no one else has seen it!  So, I usually like to wait... However, both my sisters & a few friends have seen it already and love it! They say that it's not what they expected & that it's more emotional (so I'm bringing tissues)... Another reason not to be stuck next to someone you don't know.  So, I'm seeing it tonight! I'm so excited!!

Favorite Pet Peeve:  Know-it-All Nancy & Nick...

We all have had them in our livesa...There's always that friend, church member, classmate or co-worker who knows 'EVERYTHING'... or at least thinks they do.  It might literally kill them if they don't interject their own opinion into every conversation, even if they're not included in the conversation-- or what's worse-- will actually stand there & listen to your conversation in front of your face, just because they want to know what you're talking about. Neither one of you are looking at her, but they're standing right there like a statue... bug-eyed & ears perked, intently listening. I find that extremely invasive & rude... *Wooo-Ssssaaaahhhh* I've had a lot of trouble maintaining my cool with a Know-It-All or Nosey personality... Actually, I know of several, but one in particular who is also a HUGE brown-noser.  Often I struggle not to say what I really want to say, especially if my livelihood depends on it.  Many would be surprised at what I don't say... So, in order to help those who are like me, who find people who are "Know-it-Alls" completely irritating-- I give you Forbes Magazine Article:  8 Tips for Dealing with a Know-it-All Co-Worker.

What usually helps me, is trying to remember that these people who act like that, at times, are just trying to be helpful. There's a difference between a person who has a huge problem with it, yet has other redeeming qualities, and one who is just a complete a**hole, most of the time.  Their need to be "right" or know everyone's business goes beyond wanting to know them very well.  I've been getting better at recognizing which is which... But I'm definitely going to study this when I get home. Sometimes we need tools to help us deal with others who don't behave as we behave.

Favorite Random Moment:   Semi in our Backyard at work

So, we were coming back to the office from lunch, and we saw this in our back lot of the office!  Thank God for huge favors, right?  There are several stories that are going around. One person from across the hall said that the truck driver was diabetic & blacked out. He was with the Firemen after it happened & no ambulance was assisting him, so we don't think that's the case. But we did see on the news that apparently, some inconsiderate driver cut off the Semi, and the Semi Driver swerved to avoid an accident.  It all goes to show what jerky drivers can do.  But thank God no one was hurt & that God provided rain last night & this morning for mud.  It was the muddy conditions that helped stop the truck from crashing into our building.

Favorite Pin Up Pic of the week:  Girl Fight!

I just adore this pic!  It's what I imagine  a girl-gang looks like in Westside Story... You know, like the the female version of "The Jets & The Sharks"--- They don't fight with knives, they fight with mean looks & dancing! ha ha. Anyway. I love this look! And I think I'm going to add the Pin-up Pics of the week, because there is so many that I love!

Anyway- Off to the movies & To begin my weekend!!

My Half-Hearted Apology...

First of all, I'd like to give you all my half-hearted apologies for not posting last week (he he he)... I say half-hearted, because I fully intended on posting a riveting blog last Friday, but I was told that I could go home early --- and I wasn't going to spend another minute in my desk chair, let me tell you. So, I'm sorry I missed it, but I'm glad I went home. It was a long story, but basically it was never relayed back to me that the time I requested to flex, was granted... Nonetheless... Here is what I'm thinking about this week:

Favorite Motivational Meme:  Overcome, Learn,Move On...

I've been doing a lot of revamping, lately... wearing make-up more often & doing clever & interesting things with my hair, again.  It's just a true testament that I had been depressed for too  long, because no one seems to remember that this is the "real" me.  They keep complimenting me, like they've never seen me on 10 before, lol.   It feels good to be fully coming back, as strong as I was... Not to say I'm completely healed... I'm not sure you'll ever been completely over someone you truly were in love with... was your best friend... who knew you inside &out...who ended up being a stranger, in the end. I think you'll always carry that scar, when someone affects you in that way. You'll always have those bittersweet memories, which you don't get with everyone. There's always memories of fun times you had together, followed by a slight melancholy, knowing that those times are no more.  But, you endure, overcome & move on.  I would have to say that I've moved on, but reluctantly.  There will always be times when I think of what could've been... But, I'm happy to say, that I've turned another corner.  I feel like the pieces are still falling into place, and I'm excited about that.

Favorite Laugh:  YMCA

Seriously... You know someone did this! I had to share it with my office, it was so funny!

Favorite Truth:  Just Tell the Truth!

“Whoever loves life and wants to see many good days, must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from telling lies." -I Peter 3:10

This has become more and more evident over the past few months, for me. I realized just how much I truly value honesty.  I'm not going to lie (pun intended, lol) and say that I've never told a doozey- but as an adult, it should become less and less.  It makes me cringe to hear someone lie. I can't deal with that, and recently had to cut ties with a compulsive liar in my life.  It's just not a good look.  As an adult, you should be confident enough to embrace your life, flaws & all.  You should not have to make up a facade, and front like your life is other than what it is. And in relationships, it's especially important.  How is someone supposed to really get to know you, if you're not honest with them? Words create a tapestry and you'll notice the snags & holes that lies create, if you're paying attention.  It's heart breaking when you realize someone you like or love is a liar.  The good thing about life, though, is that sometimes you get to make a decision how close people are with you.  With family, often times you're stuck-- but with others, you get to make a choice.

Favorite Food:  DiGiorno Stuffed Crust Personal Pan Pizzas (Say that 5 times fast!)
(You just tried it, didn't you? ha ha ha)

Ok, anytime you can cram more cheese into my food, I'm good with that! lol So, imagine my surprise, when I saw this lovely little gem in my grocer's freezer!  I've had it twice, and it's delicious! At Pizza Hut, you have to order their stuffed crust in one size (Large) so I was so happy to find this tasty treat. I was bamboozled into thinking that you could only get it in one size... Boy, what a discovery!

Favorite Movie:  Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2

So, a few entries ago, I told you about me dying to watch Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows 2, right?  Well, I finally did it!  My sister lent me her copy of the series, and I really enjoyed it!  Let me tell ya, I'm so pleased that I decided to watch all of the DVDs, instead of just the one I thought I missed... because, as it turns out, I missed a lot more than that! There were 3 other ones I thought I saw, but hadn't. With Deathly Hallows 2, I ended it feeling glad that it was over.  It seemed like a good way to end the series, even though you know they were tricking you, at a certain point. And the "things always happen to these 3 kids" Scooby-doo type theme, was getting much as we appreciate it...

But I also walked away with rather surprising feeling... I could see why the Dark Side was annoyed with Harry Potter, lol.  He never really hones his craft as a wizard, most of his "victories" are pure accidents, or aided by other witches, and there is nothing remarkable about him, besides the legend  of him & Voltemorte...  Harry Potter was a sniveling pip-squeak, really.  He was also quite selfish, at times. So why wouldn't the Dark Side, with all its powers, skills, and smarts, not want to kick his a**? lol It was funny.. and why didn't anyone ever realize that whomever they put in for the position of  "Dark Arts Professor" was pretty much always the culprit? Anyway... It was an awesome series, and I'm so thankful to have seen it!

Favorite Reality TV:  Real Housewives of Atlanta

Have you seen this season, yet... Whew... Chile.. Hold on to your weaves!!  For one, there are a few people I'd kick off this season, but the other women bring the drama, baby!  I'd kick off Cynthia & Phaedra... but if we get rid of Phaedra, we lose Apollo, and I'm not really willing to let him go, yet, lol.

Cynthia needs to go with her boring self. However, if she's really pregnant (rumor has it) we may need to keep her on.  I would kick off Kandi, too, except for the fact that she seems to have a lot of drama between her & Todd, that I'ma need to investigate.  It looks like it comes out that Todd's been cheating with one of Kandi's friends, because Kandi goes ALL THE WAY OFF, sometime this season.

Nene has a lot going for her, and I love that she puts fools in check.  Somehow, she's become the voice of reason-- which is how you know the show is taking a nosedive, honey.  Porsha is really showing a different side, that I like. I didn't like her trying to be "Suzie Homemaker" for Cordell.  Don't get me wrong, I love a Suzie Homemaker, but she didn't fit the role very well. It all seemed like an act for her; a role she was playing. She seemed really fake.  But, in the light of her divorce, I am seeing a stronger, braver, and more direct Porsha.  You can still  be Suzie Homemaker & stay your spunky self.  I just hope she doesn't go overboard trying to "prove" something... That's where you start losing folks.

Miss Kenya has taken an oath to bring the crazy, once again, we see. I just hope that her attention seeking antics keep us interested.  Right now, the show (and Wendy Williams, lol)  is hyping up her texting Apollo & whether or not she should be texting him [a married man] even if he texted her first. I wouldn't 'blanket response' this, because it's different strokes for different folks, but in this case, Kenya is WRONG-- but so is Apollo

I believe that Apollo isn't happy married to Phaedra. I think when they got together, he saw dollar signs & she saw... well, what we all see, lol (Dude is freak'n HOT!!!)... But since the birth of their kids (Aiden & Dylan), there seems to be an evident division between the two of them.  Then last season, there were divorce rumors swirling, followed by a lot of publicity stunting... and now a new baby as "proof" that they're "still in love", but I don't buy it.  I think that in reality, Apollo could've had a weak moment, and Kenya did try to sink her teeth in, on first sight.  Now, my question is, "What really happened, tho...?"  Did they actually hook up &  now he's feeling guilty? Did he entertain her flirting, because he was being neglected by Phaedra & when it got out of hand, he tried to flip the script? Did someone text the other, by means of "blackmail"?  Who's really lying here?  According to Apollo, his story has always been that she came on to him & offered herself sexually, and he declined (Hmph).  But, Kenya also did make up the fact that she & Walter were dating, engaged, was pressuring him about getting married, too... Then when it got out that she was lying & paid Walter to play her boyfriend, so she could be on the show... she tried to say he was gay. I'd love to see how this all ends... and thank Jesus everyday, it's not my life!

Well, that's it for this week, Folks! Let me know what's going on with you, either here or on Facebook! See ya soon!

XOXO- Tiffani
