TGIF

Can I just say T.G.I.F??? This week has been extremely rough on me,  professionally.  Thank God for blogging... Although I cannot disclose names or places of my irritation, as I'm told employers often go online to see how you talk about your place of employment, I can say that it has been a TRYING week!  One thing that helps keep me sane is why I do it. I see how these parents help kids & it reminds me that the stuff I do still needs to be done, even if I don't have direct contact with our clients.   Sigh... Can I just say, I'm GLAD I'm leaving early, though? Nothing like starting your weekend early, after a rough week! But- there are some rays of sunshine this week... So here we go!

Favorite Drink:  Peach Margarita

I had one of these, this week, after one of my worst days-- and it really helped to soothe me!  Nothing better than taking a mini-mind vacation on the tropical flavors of a Peach margarita!  Ok, ok... mine was just a single serving $1.99 bag frozen margarita, but you gotta do what you gotta do, amiright?

Favorite Annoyance of this week:  SNITCHES!

Like I said... Can't disclose how this made the list this week, but I can say that I CANNOT STAND a tattletale!  I know the rules of the streets are "not to be a snitch", which in it's truest form, I agree with, but tattletaling?  I got told on this week over something completely irrelevant.  Just makes me want to be like, "Is that all you have to do around here? geesh!"

SIDENOTE:  Let me tell you why I agree with "Snitches get Stitches..."  Do I think people should NEVER go to the police? Absolutely not. Do I think there's a huge misunderstanding about what it means to be a "Snitch?"  YES!  First of all, it's not snitching if you're not involved.  According to Renee Graziano (Father Mob Affliate Anthony Graziano) "Snitching" is going to the police to cover your own butt.  That is completely different than when someone is killed or murdered and "no one" ever saw anything.  If you are involved in a crime, and you rat everyone else out to make it better for yourself, that's one thing. That's wrong. But if you have information on something serious it is not wrong to go to the police, cautiously.  I say this, because you ALWAYS need to be cautious about that sort of thing.  It's an ugly truth, but people can be ruthless. The last thing you want is for someone to come after you & your's because you helped put one of their loved ones away.... Ok. Back to regular scheduled programming. lol

Favorite Movie:  The Silver Linings Playbook

Ok... I finally did see The Silver Linings Playbook...Bradley Cooper was in it, so of course I was going to check it out! lol.  I found this movie oddly disturbing.  It's got a fantastic eerie feeling.  The best way to describe is that it "feels like you're always only the verge of something..." - like something big is right around the corner, but it doesn't ever quite happen.  As much as I like Bradley, I found his character a little off-putting. I LOVED that he had no filter. I loved that he made me laugh... But there was something in his delivery; the cadence of his voice that annoyed me!  You'll have to see it. It's a creative love story.  And of course, Robert DeNiro, my favorite Mafia crush, was in the movie. I loved his character, too.  I won't give away the movie, but I will say that it is worth seeing-- but maybe at the Matinee  or reduced price nights.  I think if you only shell out a few bucks, you'll receive it much better.

Favorite Picture:  My Lil Gangstas

I LOVE this pic of my two favorite munchkins!  My good friend, Christina, has the cutest kids, ever.  Look for them to be stars of the future, because these hilarious kids are going places! lol

Soulpancake:  Kid President is commissioned by President Obama

Speaking of hilarious kids... I love this one!  He has brought many smiles to my face, since I discovered him.  You know that this is a kid who's going places!  I encourage you to subscribe at the end of the video! Trust me, you need a little kid like this.  Also, check out his Pep Talk! So encouraging!

Favorite Purchase:  Kyocera Hydro Phone

So, I've been dying for a new phone! And I'm so lucky to have found this one!  Anyone who knows me knows that I do not change my phone as often as some people. As long as it functions & operates at a level satisfactory to myself, I will hold on to it! But, after Blackberry downgraded it's service to my ISP, I had to get a new phone to be able to utilize my services as before.  This phone is said to be able to withstand 3-6ft being submerged under water for 30 mins!  I am not brave enough to test this theory, but I do rest assured that if my phone were to um... fall in the toilet again... that I would be in better shape than I was the last time it did.  I spent all last night figuring out the features & whatnot.  My alarm clock is now a "Rooster"... How cliche, but cool is that? lol I think I'm really going to enjoy this phone :0)

Well, I could write tons more, but I'm meeting someone for lunch... and then it's going to be a fast day! Have a great weekend!

Flying By the Seat of my Pants

Soooo sorry for missing a blog or two!  You wouldn't believe how much has been going on in my life, lately.  January always seems a little fast paced for me, let alone  some family events in the making, that I've been sworn to secrecy about!  I have been on a new journey, and I'm excited about some of the things that are going on... Starting with:

My Favorite Day:  February 8th! MY BIRTHDAY!!
Yes, folks... I know it's unbelievable, but Last Friday was my 32nd Birthday! Although things did not go as planned, due to a family situation, I eventually did get to celebrate my birthday with both my family & friends.    There are definitely things I thought I'd have & places I thought I'd be at 32yrs old... but I'm learning to seek Gods guidance & take things as they come.  This is a daily feat... And I'm glad that I've practiced loving each stage of my life as it is, instead of what it was or will be.  And in any event, no one thinks I look 32yrs old... I got carded at an Applebee's the day after my 32nd birthday.... So here's to 32!

Favorite Thought:

Favorite Song:  Gary Clark, Jr. Things Are Changing

Favorite Look:  Lauren Conrad's Mid-week Look

I know I post a lot about Lauren Conrad, but let's face it... The girl is a classy genius!  I love her style, I love her emphasis about being a lady, and I love that she's always got some irons in the fire.  I would love to be able to do half the things she does & look as good! This outfit isn't the most glamorous, but it seems effortless & chic, which I love!

Favorite Laugh:  The Flash Goes Speed Dating!

Ok, so not only does this hit close to home, b/c my younger brother, Cameron's nickname is "Flash", but I'm also a avid The Big Bang Theory watcher! So you can imagine the laugh I got about "Flash" speed dating... I bet he'd have to go like 39 times in order to actually make a connection... Too funny!

Welp! I want to write more, but I have to get on the road! Maybe I'll do a bonus blog next week! Stay tuned!!

Don't Get Excited, Gym Nazis!

What an awesome week...  it has gone by way faster than normal. (I feel like I say that every week, lol)  This week, I'm really telling the truth, though! I joined a new gym, and have been thriving in the new place, so far. I usually dread going, but I'm surprised that I haven't been entirely hating the idea, this week.  Don't get excited Gym-Nazis., I am not confessing to enjoying the gym, I'm just saying, it wasn't mentally as straining as usual.  Physically, on the other hand... ugh. I hope I will never have to build my endurance up again-- it is a pain in the butt! Anywho, here's other things I've been up to this week:

Favorite Movie:  Water for Elephants

I know it's not a new movie, but I fell in love with Water for Elephants, last night.  Of course, being a Reese Witherspoon & Robert Pattinson fan, I knew I'd eventually own this story in my movie arsenal.  Boy did I pick well! I'm the type of person, that if there's too much hype about something, I like to wait until the hype is over, so I can make my own opinion.  I knew I wanted to read this book, but in true Tiffani style, I wanted to watch the movie before reading the book.  Because doing it in reverse always ruins it.  I loved this story. It had everything you needed. It had controversy, love, humor, scandal, fashion, suspense and fighting! What more can you ask for? Can't wait to curl up with this book this weekend!

Favorite Video:  Trust Fall Fail

Favorite Quote:  From a Proverbs 31 Devotional...

"— I promised myself and God that I would not allow the pain of my past to determine my future any more."

Reading through this devotional  from Proverbs 31 Ministries meant a lot to me, because it's been something I've struggled with longer than I realized. Often times, I keep feeling that parts of my past are negatively impacting my future, especially when it came to trying to share my future w/someone who decided he wanted out of it.  I've been dealing with that the last two-years, and don't want that sad experience to keep  holding me back. I'm trying to put more love into myself than into another person... So that I can grow into the person I want to be & I know I am inside... It just came down to two options, and I don't want my outcome to be that I let a broken heart determine the rest of my life...

Favorite Look:  LBD with the Big Bow

I know I'm in love with a dress when it takes my breath away when I see it! I saw this look on Lauren Conrad's site & fell in love.  Unfortunately, I haven't found the designer, yet! OMG, look at that back! I really would love to see the front, but let's be honest here, there really is no need.  This is the dramatic look I love! Sexy, sophisticated, classy, and reminiscent of another time! This is Audrey Hepburn or Marilyn Monroe, circa 2013!

Favorite Giggle:  Haters...

I love this... I get so tired of grown folks getting on Facebook & other social media sites talking smack about their "haters".  I don't get it at all... First of all, isn't Facebook "A Place for Friends"??? Why do you have sooo many haters on your page that you need to send a passive aggressive blanketed post  into the mediasphere? ... then threaten things like "Delete me!" if you don't like it... lol.  Secondly, I also tend to  think that the people who cry the loudest about their "haters" are the ones that have royally f'd up their lives and can't take ownership of their mistakes,  or who constantly define themselves by their mistakes.  I'm finding out that people just slap the phrase "Haters" on anyone who disagrees with them or has a difference of opinion.  It's sad that grown ups have to get on social media sites and try to call out these imaginary haters.  A promise to my readers, you'll never see me most anything about my "haters" other than in a joking manner, lol.

Favorite Music Video:  Marsha Ambrosius- Cold War

I saw this video this morning while getting dressed, and it made me nostalgic for how music videos used to be.  They told a story other than just looking sexy, having a band of big booty hoes, or riding nowhere in a car, lol.  These have always been my favorite kinds of videos-- ones that make you think, and show insight into the song.  Usher could seriously take a page from this type of style.  Ever since Confessions, his stuff really hasn't been that deep... This was in severe contrast to the Jodeci video (Cry for You) that followed, that had me dying laughing... It made me want to make a whole post just about the do's and do nots in a music video... (Check out the previous post if you wanna check out the 5 do's & Don'ts of music video...it's pretty funny, if I say so myself.)

Favorite eCard:  When it's broken...

I thought this was so telling. I often think I should've been born in a different time, because I still feel this way... I'm glad they said it!

Well, you know what I'm going to do! Climb into bed & read! What kinds of fun things do you plan on getting into this weekend?
